Staff members of Sherri Shepherd’s talk series are mourning the loss of one of their colleagues.
According to reports, the show’s production manager Matt Uzzle was recently found dead in his apartment from what allegedly appeared to be an act of suicide.

Reports state that authorities performed a wellness check at Matt Uzzle‘s New York apartment on February 13th after no one could get in contact with him. Police reportedly have not directly confirmed the nature of their findings as the investigation is ongoing. However, sources familiar with the matter have reportedly shared officials’ preliminary speculation that Uzzle died by suicide. Shepherd’s daytime show reportedly honored the deceased with an in-memoriam on its Feb. 15 episode.

Uzzle’s death reportedly came amid an ongoing investigation into the show’s staffers over missing money. The executive, who first worked on “The Wendy Williams Show” before it was canceled and replaced by “Sherri“, reportedly oversaw all aspects of production management and the show’s budget.

Right before his passing, Uzzle was questioned about the production’s finances. Sources have reportedly stated that multiple departments were expressing concern over discrepancies with the petty cash and informed parent company Debmar-Mercury of the situation when it was discovered that rent for Shepherd’s studio had not been paid for five months. One source reportedly stated:
