Man Released On $200,000 Bond After Allegedly Running Red Light & Fatally Hitting Mother, Daughter Following Drake Concert

Out on bond.

A man accused of speeding through a red light and killing a mother and her daughter as they were leaving a Drake concert was reportedly released from jail.

According to reports, the tragic incident happened Wednesday, Feb. 14. That’s when police said 42-year-old Laticha Bracero and her 21-year-old daughter, Alyssa Cordova, were crossing a downtown street in St. Louis, Missouri when a vehicle hit them. Monte Henderson allegedly sped through red lights before his Jeep Cherokee struck another vehicle and hit the mother and daughter. Police said Bracero was pronounced dead at the scene, and Cordova died shortly after being rushed to the hospital.

Monte Henderson was charged with two counts of first-degree involuntary manslaughter and two counts of armed criminal action. Following his arrest, Henderson posted the required 10% of his $200,000 bond, $20,000, to be released.

GoFundMe account started by Bracero and Cordova’s family noted the “two were inseparable and shared a strong bond.” As of today (Feb. 26), more than 540 people donated money to their GoFundMe account, exceeding the $25,000 goal with over $28,000 raised thus far.

Bracero’s sister, Michelle Del Bosque, also posted an update today (Feb. 26) on the account expressing her gratitude to everyone who donated money towards Braceo and Cordova’s funeral. She said,

“Thank you to everyone for your donations. Words can’t even come close to how much our family appreciates everyone that came together across the country. My sister and my niece were the most loving people you could ever meet. They were so kind and sweet. They spoke of positivity and helped others across the country/beyond. They did so much for others I am positive they received their wings right away.”

She added,

“They both are here in Chicago preparing for the wake and soon after will be buried amongst family. Their wishes were to always be with family. Two queens gone too soon. They will be forever missed and never forgotten.”

We send our condolences to the family.
