‘Teen Mom’ Star Jenelle Evans Separates From Husband David Eason After Six Years Of Marriage Due To His ‘Erratic Behavior’ & ‘Refusal To Work’
After just six years of marriage, Jenelle Evans is ready to move on from her husband, David Eason.
According to reports, “Teen Mom” star Jenelle Evans recently filed for a legal separation from David Eason. This development follows shortly after the controversial reality star was said to have evicted her husband from their family residence.
Jenelle Evans cited David Eason’s “erratic behavior” and alleged “substance abuse” as reasons for the separation.
The former MTV personality reportedly parted ways with her husband on Feb. 16, with the intention of the separation being permanent. As per the court filing, Jenelle asserted that David refused to contribute to their family’s financial support while recklessly spending her funds.
She also alleged that he engaged in inappropriate communication, termed “criminal conversation,” with his ex-wife via text messages.
Additionally, the filing mentioned David‘s controversial act of killing the couple’s French Bulldog, Nugget, in 2019. You may recall that Jenelle contacted the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office, reporting that her husband had shot and killed their dog. However, she later retracted her statement, indicating she had not witnessed the shooting nor confirmed the dog’s death. Consequently, the investigation into the incident was halted.
David admitted, however, months later to fatally shooting the dog, alleging it had bitten their then-two-year-old daughter, Ensley Jolie.
As Jenelle referenced her husband’s conduct in the court documents, she detailed,
“In May of 2019, Defendant shot and killed the family’s pet French Bulldog Nugget in front of the minor child.”
Jenelle also highlighted other incidents that allegedly occurred years ago. She asserted that David‘s behaviors significantly tarnished her public image, saying,
“Plaintiff has been a faithful and dutiful spouse to the defendant and has stuck by the defendant’s side through the criticism of millions of people across the world on social media, who voiced concern regarding the defendant’s behaviors. Defendant’s conduct has caused plaintiff employment compensation and degraded her public image.”
The legal filing covered an incident where David allegedly assaulted Jenelle’s 14-year-old son, Jace, as well. As previously reported, David faced charges of misdemeanor child abuse and felony strangulation after Jace disclosed to medical professionals that his stepfather abused him following an attempt to flee.
The purported assault allegedly occurred at an acquaintance’s residence and was said to have been captured on video by a Ring doorbell camera. Following the incident, Jace was returned to the care of his grandmother, Barbara Evans, who had primarily raised him, before eventually being placed in foster care for another runaway attempt.
At the time, Evans defended her husband saying,
“The police are looking into the wrong person right now. There is a vile situation going on and it’s not pertaining my husband. This story is one sided and no interviews were conducted asking what happened when the incident occurred.”
However, now she is reportedly seeking physical custody of their daughter, Ensley, along with child support from David, who is currently unemployed.
She has petitioned for an “unequal distribution” of their assets, likely due to her being the breadwinner.
