Mike Epps Apologizes To Wife Kyra After Saying ‘I Never Treated A Woman Right 100 Percent’ On Podcast + Lashes Out Over Portrayal: ‘Never Again Will I Interview w/ Anyone Ever’

Mike Epps has a message for his wife Kyra Epps after making an eyebrow-raising statement about how he treats women.

During an appearance on All The Smoke on Thursday, March 7, Mike Epps said his dream is to “learn how to treat a woman 100 percent right.”

Shortly after the episode aired, The Upshaws star hopped on Instagram to apologize to Kyra Epps while seemingly lashing out over his portrayal on the podcast.

“I wanna apologize to my wife for what I said on this dumb a** podcast sh*t this sh*t is a trick bag. [i am] always misunderstood on what i say on the internet smh never again will I interview with anyone never [thumbs down Emoji] iam off this sh*t for good f*ck off”

He issued a second apology on Instagram, writing,

“Again I wanna apologize to my beautiful wife for ignorant and reckless I honor you and my family please forgive me”

Kyra Epps hasn’t publicly reacted to his comments.

While on All The Smoke, Mike Epps reflected on welcoming his first son shortly after his mother passed away of Covid-19 in 2020.

He told hosts Stephen Jackson and Matt Barnes, 

“My son was born the same time bro, and I never had a son. He look just like my mama. I swear, that’s how I know God is real. My mama gave me a son walking out the door man.”

He continued,

“I used to cry all the time man and ask God, ‘What did I do wrong that I can’t have a son?’ But I know what it was. I lied to all these women and got ’em pregnant. And sold ’em dreams and sh*t like that.”

The comedian has a total of five daughters and one son. He shares two daughters, Moriah and Madison, with his ex-wife Mechelle McCain, as well as Makayla and Bria from previous relationships. He and his wife Kyra, whom he married in June 2019, welcomed daughter Indiana Rose in March 2020 and son Mike Epps, Jr. in October 2021. Mike shared news of his mother’s death on social media in December 2020.

He said he plans to honor his mother and children by getting this “one thing” right “before I leave this earth.”

“I’m gonna learn how to treat a woman 100 percent right. That’s something that I want to do, for my mother, for my children, for my daughter. I never treated a woman right 100 percent. Now that I’m getting older I’m realizing, ‘You gotta treat a woman right, Mike. You can’t cheat on her. You gotta be her friend. You gotta not be selfish. This is what I wanna do. This is one of my dreams, man.”

He shared that he had “issues” with his mom, and doesn’t want to carry that on to the mothers of his children.
