‘Euphoria’ Season 3 Put On Hold w/ No Production Start Date, Cast Given Green Light To ‘Pursue Other Opportunities’
The future of ‘Euphoria’ is not looking so bright.
According to reports, shooting for the celebrated HBO hit’s third season has yet to start, and the film crew is unsure as to when things will kick off.

As you may know, season two of ‘Euphoria’ premiered in 2022. Last year, it was announced that viewers would have to wait until 2025 for the next round of episodes.
Along with the sudden death of Angus Cloud, who portrayed drug dealer Fez, industry strikes and scheduling troubles were said to have played a huge part in the delay. Most of the starring characters’ careers have skyrocketed since the debut of ‘Euphoria,’ which insiders claim has made it more difficult for everyone’s availability to coincide.
Following the 2023 update, word on the Hollywood streets was that season three had been “entirely scrapped.” However, despite those rumors, creator Sam Levinson is reportedly still working on the scripts for the anticipated production.

A spokesperson told an outlet,
“HBO and Sam Levinson remain committed to making an exceptional third season.”
But… although the showrunners have plans for the Zendaya-led series to return to the network soon, they have opted not to stifle their main talent from seeking work elsewhere.
They continued:
“In the interim, we are allowing our in-demand cast to pursue other opportunities.”

The making of season three was originally set to begin sometime this year, but for now… that’s in the air. There’s been hearsay that the newer episodes will take place after a five-year timespan since fans have had to wait so long, but it looks like we’ll have to wait and see.
Set in the fictional East Highland, California, ‘Euphoria’ follows a young girl named Rue (played by Zendaya) who battles drug addiction and the many ups and downs of teenagehood.
Colman Domingo, Storm Reid, Austin Abrams, Maude Apatow, Alexa Demie, Nika King, and Eric Dane also serve as a part of the title cast.
