Will & Jada Pinkett Smith’s Foundation Reportedly Closing After Nearly 30 Years; Donations Dropped Following Infamous Chris Rock Slap
Will and Jada Pinkett Smith’s charity is in the process of shutting down for good.
After the actor and rapper notoriously slapped comedian Chris Rock at the 2022 Oscars, The Will and Jada Smith Family Foundation’s donations dropped significantly.

Based on reported tax records, the enterprise’s revenue was $365,870 in 2022, compared to the millions of dollars it obtained years prior ($1,760,000in 2020 and $2,138,660 in 2021). According to the report, 2023 tax information from the pair’s foundation is set to come out in the next few months.
In 2022, the same year as the infamous Oscars slap, the charity reportedly spent hundreds of thousands of dollars on prominent mental health organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters.

In addition, it spent over $3,300 on “bank overdrawn” fees. However, the fees were cited as a decline in staffing after the couple pulled away from the organization. Also, in 2022, there were reportedly no paid staff working at the organization.

Will and Jada’s charitable organization was founded in 1996. According to its website, it has “invested millions of dollars and invaluable resources to accelerate the growth of initiatives that focus on deepening individual and collective empowerment.”

Regarding the non-profit organization’s social media, its official Facebook page was last updated in June 2023, when the pictures below were posted.

Meanwhile, the foundation’s Instagram page hasn’t been updated since 2022.

After apologizing twice and being banned from Academy Award events for ten years, Will is still one of the highest-paid A-list actors in Hollywood. He’s since gotten back into the acting swing after recently shooting Bad Boys 4.
The new film is set to hit theaters on June 7.
