Update: DJ Mister Cee’s Family Reveals His Cause Of Death

Update (April 16, 2024): We are finding out more about DJ Mister Cee‘s untimely death. His family told All Hip Hop that the Medical Examiner of New York City determined the radio personality and record exec died of diabetes-related coronary and artery disease.

His family said in a statement,

“On behalf of the Lebrun, Wilson, Calixte families we want to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support for our brother, uncle, nephew Calvin ‘DJ Mister Cee’ Lebrun in the wake of his untimely passing. It’s a huge loss for our entire family, the borough of Brooklyn, and the entire Hip-Hop Community.”

They continued,

“The Medical Examiner of NYC determined that his cause of death was Diabetes related coronary artery/kidney disease. Details about the public funeral service will be announced shortly. We ask that you please respect the family’s privacy during this extremely difficult time. Thank you.”

James Roberts, better known as Ed Lover, recently took to his Instagram and shared a post that has many wondering if DJ Mister Cee is okay. The emotional message attached to a picture of DJ Mister Cee said,

“My heart is broken! All that knew him loved him! Take the music to heaven and put the Wallop down! Rest in Peace”

There have been no further updates on the matter at this time. However, many have taken to the post’s comment section to share their condolences and seek more information. One person wrote,

“Can we get some confirmation. I’m not seeing this on no news platforms”

Another person said,

“That’s crazy, just was listening to him on 94.7 the block yesterday. Rest up @djmistercee”

DJ Mister Cee, real name Calvin LeBrun, was reportedly responsible for discovering rapper Notorious B.I.G. back in the early 90s. He was a man of many talents, which included his on-air skills as a famed radio personality. DJ Mister Cee’s camp has yet to confirm his alleged passing, however, his supporters have started to flood his IG comments with “Rest In Peace” wishes.
