The actress reacted to the attention Barbra Streisand garnered after publicly asking her if she was on Ozempic.

In a video posted to her Instagram yesterday (April 30), Melissa McCarthy held up a Barbra Streisand-themed magazine issue and said,

“The takeaway: Barbra Streisand knows I exist, she reached out to me, and she thought I looked gooood. I win the day.”

Singer/actress Barbra Streisand definitely has. The celeb took to her socials today (Apr. 30) to explain she meant no harm when publically asking “Gilmore Girls” star Melissa McCarthy if she took Ozempic to lose weight. Explaining her intentions to the countless people who slammed her over the controversial question, she wrote,

“I went on Instagram to see the photos we’d posted of the beautiful flowers I’d received for my birthday! Below them was a photo of my friend Melissa McCarthy who I sang with on my Encore album. She looked fantastic! I just wanted to pay her a compliment. I forgot the world is reading!”

Original Story: (Apr. 30, 2024): Barbra Streisand is catching heat for a candid question she asked Melissa McCarthy in front of millions of fans on Instagram.

The ordeal started after the Bridesmaids star, 53, posted a picture on Instagram of her and actor Adam Shankman on a stroll together. Referencing their bright pastel wardrobe, Melissa McCarthy captioned the pic,

“Pastels only to honor the incredible @matthewbourne13 at the @ctgla gala last night with this fella @adamshankman !! Thiiiiis much closer to my dream of dancing on stage”

However, it was the comment section that made the photo go viral. Barbra Streisand was spotted asking,

“Give him my regards did you take Ozempic?”

The comment has since been deleted, so it might be safe to say Barbra Streisand meant to message the Little Mermaid actress privately.

Meanwhile, fans flocked to X (formerly Twitter) to share their thoughts on the no-filter comment. While some made light of the remark as “nasty work,” others called out Streisand for prying.

One wrote,

“Shame on you, Babs.”

Another added that it’s,

“one of the most insane things I’ve ever seen.”
