Sophie Turner Reveals She Asked Estranged Husband Joe Jonas If They Should Terminate Her First Pregnancy

Becoming a mother at 24 wasn’t a quick and easy decision for actress Sophie Turner.

The Game Of Thrones star recently opened up about initially feeling hesitant after finding out she was pregnant for the first time, admitting that she debated keeping the baby.

During a recent cover interview with British Vogue, Sophie Turner shared that she was at a retreat in Bali when she discovered she was pregnant with her first daughter Willa. Revealing that she kept the news private at the time, even from then-husband Joe Jonas, she stated:

“Maybe because I was so young, I sat on it for a week…Thankfully there were therapists there to help me talk things through.”

Upon returning home, the UK native said she immediately told Joe Jonas, subsequently asking him whether or not he thought she should follow through with the pregnancy. She continued:

“I remember throwing the pregnancy test at him, saying, ‘What do you think we should do? Do you think we should have it?’…When you’re in your early 20s, life is so frivolous.”

Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner tied the knot in 2019 and were married nearly four years before the singer filed for divorce in November. The ex-couple are now co-parents to Willa, who they welcomed in July of 2020, and daughter Delphine, who they welcomed in July of 2022. Following a messy custody battle post-separation, the pair reached a temporary agreement that split their time with the children.

Speaking on ultimately deciding she was ready to have children with the pop star, Turner went on to state that after discussing the matter with Jonas, “something changed” within her and she “just knew” she had to see the pregnancy through, which inspired her to have a planned pregnancy the second time around. She added:

“Because my ex and I travel so much, I wanted Willa to have a sibling…I wanted them to have each other. They’re so much fun, total girlie girls and absolute rays of sunshine in my life.”
