Gunna Accused Of Stealing & Reshaping Forthcoming Clothing Line From Previously Existing Brand

Gunna Accused Of Stealing & Reshaping Forthcoming Clothing Line From Previously Existing Brand
Gunna might have some explaining to do.
The Atlanta rapper is being called out for allegedly ripping off the logo and concept of his soon-to-be-released clothing line “P By Gunna” from an already-existing brand. Gunna is set to drop his highly anticipated line on June 5 and Billboards for the clothing brand have already started to surface in certain cities.

It’s probably no surprise that a rapper as stylish as Gunna, born Sergio Giavanni Kitchens, has decided to tap into the fashion world. It may also be a no-brainer that he’s incorporated his signature phrase “pushin’ P” into the brand. However, you may be shocked to learn that another clothing line has claimed that Gunna completely ripped off the premise of his new endeavor from them.

Rising Miami rapper/designer Rajeev recently took to his socials and shared a video detailing how Gunna allegedly copied the brand he started around 2016, PGM. According to Rajeev, in 2018 the VP of Gunna’s label, YSL Records, emailed claiming to be a “big fan” of his “movement” and they proceeded to schedule a business call. Rajeev then noted the same year he created his star-and-P logo, and supporters of his brand started to get the symbol tattooed.

Rajeev said in 2019 he had the opportunity to open for late YSL Records artist Lil Keed and his brother Lil Gotit. From there, things seemingly got interesting. According to Rajeev, fast forward sometime later, before the 2022 song “pushin’ P” was released, Gunna purportedly posted his first image using the “P” emoji in the caption. Rajeev expressed that when he and his fans initially saw Gunna’s caption, they thought it was a shout-out to his growing movement. However, they soon learned the “One of Wun” artist was just teasing the rollout of his next album and rebrand.

Rajeev said he was “frustrated” but decided to keep pushing and not say anything. However, he had a change of heart when Gunna announced his clothing line, which uses a color scheme and logo Rajeev argued looks eerily similar to his own line.
@hotboyprimo Im also aware Im not the first person to use ?? emoji, but between the emails, meeting part of the team during the show, the logo and colorway similarties, and the photo in my neighborhood being the first time he uses it, it all seems like a pretty big coincidence to me #greenscreen #gunna
At this time, Gunna has not addressed the copying allegations. In the caption of his video, Rajeev clarified,
“Im also aware Im not the first person to use [P] emoji, but between the emails, meeting part of the team during the show, the logo and colorway similarties, and the photo in my neighborhood being the first time he uses it, it all seems like a pretty big coincidence to me”
