Simone Biles Addresses Social Media Critics For ‘Disrespecting’ Her Husband Jonathan Owens: ‘Respectfully, F*** Off’
Superstar gymnast Simone Biles is calling out social media users, demanding an end to the disrespect toward her husband, Jonathan Owens.
The 27-year-old Olympic gold medalist took to her Instagram Stories to confront the disrespectful remarks about their relationship:
“I’m going to quickly address this, the joke was never a joke! Y’all are blatantly being disrespectful to my relationship & my husband. So I’m gonna go ahead & say this one time. Respectfully, f*** off.”
She continued,
“If you keep commenting or tweeting at me I’m just going to block you. Simple as that, and no I don’t need to touch grass or whatever tf y’all suggest.”
However, she added,
“@ everyone else that supports us, we love y’all so much”

In his own Instagram Story, Simone Biles’ husband, football player Jonathan Owens, echoed her sentiments, condemning the “weirdo behavior” of those criticizing their relationship.
The 28-year-old Chicago Bears safety wrote,
“If y’all gone support, support!!! If not respectfully keep scrolling, cause being fake mad about people y’all don’t know from a can of paint is weirdo behavior.”

This public defense follows Simone Biles sharing affectionate photos of herself and Jonathan Owens on Instagram immediately after her victory at the Core Hydration Classic.
She praised Owens, stating:
“My whole heart. The best supporter, I couldn’t ask for a better husband.”

Many social media users took to the comments to criticize the relationship, a trend that has persisted for months since a 2023 interview with The Pivot Podcast where Owens playfully referred to himself as “the catch” in their relationship:
“I always say that the men are the catch.”
He also alleged that he didn’t know Biles was an Olympic gold medalist when they first met.
Shortly after, Owens seemingly addressed the criticism stemming from the interview by posting a photo of himself and Biles on their wedding day.
The Instagram post was accompanied by the caption,
“Unbothered. Just know we locked in over here.”

More recently, in April 2024, Simone addressed the criticism, revealing that she broke down amid the discourse about her relationship. During an interview with Alex Cooper on the Call Her Daddy Podcast, she clarified that Owens never implied she wasn’t a catch and stated,
“I thought it was hilarious at first, and then they hurt my feelings … One night, I broke down, and I’m like, ‘Why are you guys talking about my husband like this?’”
Simone Biles and Jonathan Owens started dating at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 after meeting on the dating app Raya. They tied the knot on April 22, 2023.
