Jennifer Lopez Allegedly Facing Possibility Of Losing Las Vegas Residency Offer Due To Poor Album & Tour Sales
Fans hoping Jennifer Lopez will get a Las Vegas residency might end up disappointed.
Reports state that the singer’s offer to do a residency in Sin City may fall through due to low ticket sales from her upcoming This Is Me Live tour.

A source familiar with the matter reportedly shared that despite Jennifer Lopez, 54, being in talks with MGM Grand in Las Vegas to do a concert series at the hotel and casino, the deal is presently at risk of falling through. They stated:
“MGM is watching her not doing well on the road. They are very nervous…It’s pretty rare you have a poor tour and then go to Vegas.”

The source also alleged that Jennifer Lopez was supposed to be paid $1 million across 90 shows for the residency, though the insider reportedly believes she should have only been offered around $650,000 for a significantly less number of shows. At this time, neither Lopez nor MGM has confirmed rumors about a potential residency. The report notes that a second source claims a deal was never officially signed but that talks have “continued.”

Speculations about Lopez’s alleged residency return come ahead of her forthcoming tour, which is set to kick off next month. As we previously covered, the “Jenny From The Block” singer came under fire in the weeks after the tour’s announcement for canceling seven tour dates, reportedly due to low ticket sales as well as her latest album This Is Me… Now charting number #38 on Billboard’s Hot 200.

The album centers around Lopez’s journey to find love again with her ex-fiancé turned husband Ben Affleck, who she’s reportedly been at odds with over the past couple of months.
