Usher Explains Why He Doesn’t Eat Anything On Wednesdays While Revealing Strict Health Regimen
Ever wondered how Usher maintains his fit physique?
In a recent interview, R&B superstar Usher revealed the disciplined regimen he maintains to uphold his impressive physique and energy levels, particularly as he prepares for his upcoming headlining summer tour.
Beginning with his morning ritual, Usher detailed,
“I wake up and start with celery juice. Then I have a mix of lemon, ginger, water, and cayenne pepper, which I drink hot.”
Along with his juicing regimen, mornings for the 45-year-old singer encompass dedicated time for self-reflection:
“I try to wake up early enough for reflection. I might read or meditate. Yoga is a regular practice; it gets my mind and body in sync.”
Usher’s breakfast choices are straightforward and reflect his simple approach to nutrition. He mentioned his preference for eggs, particularly poached or overeasy.

Interestingly, Usher practices fasting midweek, inspired by his grandmother’s traditions, he said,
“I fast on Wednesdays. Starting around 11 p.m. the night before, I only drink water the entire next day.”
With a demanding schedule that includes regular workouts and high-profile performances such as the 2024 Super Bowl halftime show, Usher also maintains a disciplined fitness routine.
He elaborated,
“I start with walking or knee activations. I’ve had minor surgeries on my knee, I had a torn meniscus. Other than that, swimming is a really good thing to get me going and bike riding. Weight lifting, don’t do a lot of that.”
Reflecting on his physically demanding Super Bowl performance earlier this year, Usher admitted,
“It was one of the hardest 15 minutes of my life.”
His preparation included a strict, low-carb diet and dedicated physical conditioning to ensure he delivered a standout show.
