Kehlani Reacts To Friend Saweetie Dating Ex-Boyfriend YG: ‘I’m So Unbothered’

Kehlani isn’t losing any sleep over who her exes have moved on to.

During a recently aired interview with media personality Nessa to promote her new album CRASH, Kehlani dished on her life and even spoke about one of her exes. After being crowned the “coolest ex” by Nessa for seemingly having a good relationship with Saweetie, who is now dating her ex-boyfriend YG, Kehlani said,

“Well, I’m a lesbian. So, why would I care about my male [exes]? I also don’t care what any of my exes are doing. Male, female, anything. My goal is [for] everybody to be happy. Even when I’m with someone, if we decide that we’re not mutually happy, we really shouldn’t be together and we should go be with people who make us happy. That’s what I want […] I’m so unbothered. If I was bothered, you’d never know.”

Kehlani and YG dated in 2019 for a few months before calling it quits in early 2020. It’s rumored that they broke up because the Compton rapper continued to cheat on Kehlani. In April 2021, Kehlani officially came out as a lesbian. Rumors that YG and Saweetie were dating started to surface in March 2023. The relationship was confirmed in May 2023 when paparazzi captured them on vacation in Mexico. At the top of this year, they broke up, however, it’s highly speculated that they have since gotten back together.

YG, Saweetie

Saweetie faced backlash after going public with her YG relationship due to her friendship and work history with Kehlani. However, during her recent interview, Kehlani let it be known that there’s no bad blood between her and Saweetie. She said,

“And I love Saweetie…They make so much sense. Knowing them both, I’m like ‘You know what, I really like this.’”
