FKA Twigs Fights Shia LaBeouf’s Requests For Her ‘Highly Private’ Medical Information Ahead Of Sexual & Physical Abuse Trial

Ex-couple FKA Twigs and Shia LaBeouf will face off in court this fall.

As previously reported, in December 2020, FKA Twigs, born Tahliah Barnett, filed a lawsuit against Shia LaBeouf, 38. She accused the Disney child star of several serious allegations, including sexual battery, assault, and infliction of emotional distress during their 2018-2019 relationship. Their trial date has been set for October 14. It seems that Shia LaBeouf is doing what he can to prepare for the case with his legal team, however, one of his requests was recently slammed by FKA Twigs’ attorneys.

According to court documents filed on Monday (June 24) and obtained by PEOPLE,  attorneys for the 36-year-old “Two Weeks” artist claimed their client’s ex is “improperly seeking Plaintiff’s private financial and medical information that has no bearing on the issues in this case.”

They continued, arguing that LaBeouf’s lawyers want “the entirety of Plaintiff’s medical history, going well beyond the injuries that are actually at issue” in the case while failing to explain why the British singer’s “medical history, unrelated to her emotional distress or the condition transmitted to her by” LaBeouf, is needed.

After noting the “requests are overbroad and burdensome,” the legal professionals added in the filing,

“As such, Defendant is not entitled to this highly private information.”

Per the report, Twigs’ attorneys also stated that she has already submitted to a psychotherapy exam and produced more than 1,300 pages of documents herself for the trial.

LaBeouf’s request was seemingly to shut down Twigs’ demand of $10 million, according to a report from In Touch. He reportedly claimed in his own filing that Twigs alleged, “incredibly, that she has suffered $10 million in damages, including lost wages, lost professional opportunities and emotional distress” due to his purported actions.

And added,

“Contrary to what [FKA] alleges, she appears to have increased her profile in the years after her relationship with Shia and her career appears to be thriving.”
