Simon Guobadia Claims Ex Porsha Williams Took Calculated Steps To Divorce Him For ‘Personal Financial Gain’
Porsha Williams’ ex Simon Guobadia is accusing her of strategically ending their marriage in order to benefit financially.
According to a report from In Touch, Simon Guobadia is still fighting to have the court throw out the prenup that he signed with the Real Housewives of Atlanta star, which took place on November 17, 2022, nine days before the former couple tied the knot.
According to the terms of their prenup, Porsha Williams, 43, agreed to quit both her jobs as a host of Dish Nation and as a cast member of RHOA to be a stay-at-home wife in September 2021.
Simon Guobadia’s lawyer said,
“After [Porsha] quit her jobs, the parties began discussing a prenuptial agreement in December 2021. During the negotiation phase and through the execution of the prenuptial agreement, the Wife was not working on The Real Housewives of Atlanta nor with Dish Nation. [Porsha] quit her jobs to be a stay-at-home wife.”
Upon the socialite leaving her two main sources of income behind, Simon, 60, reportedly began paying Porsha Williams a five-figure monthly allowance. While Porsha exited the reality show in 2021, she announced earlier this year that she was returning as a housewife for the upcoming season, and has since started filming. She filed for divorce days after the return announcement.
In Simon’s motion, he claimed that Porsha did not disclose to him that she was returning to the show at the time that they signed the prenup. His lawyer argued,
“[Porsha] failed to disclose that she would return to her employment on The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Instead of disclosing this material fact, [Porsha] made it very clear to [Simon] (and the public) that she was leaving the television show and not returning. [Simon] relied on [Porsha’s] representations—or misrepresentations—made to him during their engagement, the negotiation phase, and at the time the parties signed the prenuptial agreement. But for [Porsha’s] misrepresentations to [Simon], [Simon] would not have signed off on the prenuptial agreement terms.”
Furthermore, the Nigerian entrepreneur accused Porsha of taking calculated “steps to divorce him just after 453 days of marriage in order to intentionally trigger the provisions of the prenuptial agreement, for her personal financial gain.”
In case you were unaware, the Bravo star was granted temporary sole use of the $7 million Georgia martial mansion after claiming their prenup included a clause that allowed her exclusive use of the home for a period of time if a divorce was filed. Simon reportedly purchased the property before they got married in November 2021.
Simon’s lawyer stated,
“It is wholly unfair and shocking to the conscience for [Porsha] to be able to take [Simon’s] $7,000,000 pre-marital home, collect a substantial amount of the home equity, and receive an exorbitant financial pay out from [Simon] under the terms of the prenuptial agreement, after [Porsha] entered into the marriage under fraudulent pretenses and failed to disclose and/or misrepresented material facts.”
