Cuba Gooding Jr. Stars In New Christian Film As He Faces Sexual Assault Lawsuits
Cuba Gooding Jr. is taking on a new type of role as he faces sexual assault accusations.
The 56-year-old actor stars as Samuel Wilson in the faith-based film The Firing Squad, which was just released in theaters this past Friday (Aug. 2).
Per IMDb, the film is,
“Based on the true story of three Christian prisoners who face execution in a third world country and how their joy in Christ results in a stunning conclusion.”
Over the weekend, Cuba Gooding Jr. hosted a private screening of the movie at Grey/Ven CEO Scott Weissman’s home in East Hampton, a village in Long Island, NY.
One person alleged that the movie was so emotional,
“People were crying.”
Sources say he’s hoping to make his comeback to Hollywood as he faces sexual assault claims that have tainted his career.
Most recently, Gooding was named in producer Lil Rod’s lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs. In the claim, Lil Rod, who produced Diddy’s September 2023 project The Love Album: Off the Grid, accused Gooding of sexual misconduct.
Attorneys for Lil Rod, real name Rodney Jones Jr., detailed in the complaint that while he was working on the project, Diddy introduced him to Gooding, and at one point,
“Cuba Gooding Jr. began touching, groping, and fondling Mr. Jones’ legs, his upper inner thighs near his groin, the small of his back near his buttocks and his shoulders.”
Gooding spoke out about the accusations, telling Extra TV last week that it was
“the most ridiculous thing ever.”
Meanwhile, two women were attempting to officially serve him with sexual assault lawsuit papers but had difficulty due to his constant vacationing and moving, according to reports in March.
