Tina Knowles Settles Divorce From Richard Lawson, Agrees To Pay Actor One-Time Lump Sum Of $300,000
Tina Knowles is legally a single woman again.
Reports surfaced last week that after filing for divorce over a year ago, following 8 years of marriage, Tina Knowles was nearing the end of divorce proceedings with Richard Lawson, 77. According to a new report from In Touch, the former love birds have officially finalized their split. The alleged agreed-upon settlement outlined several things, including that neither of them will receive spousal support. However, Tina Knowles, 70, will reportedly pay the Divorce in the Black actor a one-time payment of $300,000.
It’s said that their settlement also included a non-disparagement clause that prohibits them from speaking negatively about one another, their famous children, or other family members. As you more than likely know, Tina is the mother of Beyoncé Knowles-Carter and Solange Knowles, and Richard Lawson is the dad of actress Bianca Lawson and Grammy-nominated songwriter Ricky Lawson.
Reportedly, one provision specifically stated,
“With respect to the mutual desire to protect the privacy rights of any and all present or future grandchildren of either party, the parties agree that they will not, when asked by any media or person, discuss said grandchildren or future grandchildren whether verbally or in writing.”
As far as how their shared property will be divided, the report said Tina received,
“a 2018 Tesla, a 2020 Bentley, the Matriarch Book “deal” with Penguin Random House, a 1 percent interest in Kirby Beauty Management LLC, furniture and artwork in her possession, and all creative works, ideas, drafts and other materials generated by Tina during the marriage.”
She also walked away with other items including her separate properties, her retirement accounts, and all earnings she accumulated since the date of separation, per the report.
While Richard Lawson was reportedly awarded,
“a 2021 Cadillac Escalade, several bank and retirement accounts, all money owed to Richard Lawson Studios, any royalties earned, and all creative works he came up with during the union.”
In addition to all rights to his SAG pension plan, he was also purportedly awarded all rights to his studio, artwork, jewelry, clothing, and his royalties. They both reportedly agreed to cover their own credit card debts.
