Nicki Minaj’s Husband Denies Assaulting Jennifer Hough In Resurfaced Interrogation Video From 1994

Nicki Minaj’s husband’s past is resurfacing again.

On Monday (Aug. 26), an X user who goes by @BardisMedia posted a clip of the rapper’s husband, Kenneth Petty, denying claims that he had raped Jennifer Hough on Sept. 16, 1994.

The video begins with an investigator reading Kenneth Petty, who was a teenager at the time, his rights. They pointed out that he had previously been interviewed with his mother present and noted that his father was there for the current interrogation.

Kenneth Petty then said that around 8 am that morning, he went to wake up his uncle. On his way back, he said he “bumped into this girl named Jennifer.” She was walking with a male who Petty said was his friend.

He added that he briefly spoke to the other guy while Jennifer Hough sat nearby, and then he left and went back home. When he got home, he went to sleep and woke up to police “up in my face” accusing him of raping Jennifer Hough. He said,

“I did not rape nobody.”

In another clip, he denied having sex with Hough on that particular day and alleged the last time they had intercourse was “last year” in 1993.

He was then asked if he had “sex with anyone today,” and said “No.” He also denied having a girl in the home at all that day.

However, Hough has maintained that Petty, who married Nicki Minaj in 2019, raped her at knifepoint. He initially denied the allegation, but ultimately accepted a deal and pleaded guilty to attempted rape, serving four years behind bars. The incident has since followed him and has been a recurring headlining topic.

In fact, Hough is now suing him for sexual assault. She claimed in recent court documents that Petty tried to bribe her so that she would retract her allegation, and when she declined, he allegedly threatened her. Nicki Minaj was previously named in the case, however, she was later removed.

Still, Minaj, who has known Petty since they were teens, has been vocal in the past about the incident. Back in 2019, when it was revealed that she and Petty were together, she told one social media user of the accusations,

“he was 15, she was 16… in a relationship. But go awf, Internet. y’all can’t run my life. Y’all can’t even run y’all own life. Thank you boo.”
