Update: Diddy Denied Bail For The Second Time

Update #4: (Sep 18, 2024): Diddy won’t be leaving the Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn anytime soon.

News just broke that the record executive has been denied bail for the second time. According to journalist Philip Lewis, a second judge didn’t accept Diddy’s updated proposed bail package over concerns he would “tamper with witnesses” if released.

Update #3: (Sep 18, 2024): Diddy is taking another swing at being released on bail.

In the updated proposed bail package obtained by TMZ, Sean “Diddy” Combs promised that the security company that logs visitors to his Miami home will give the guest list to the government at the end of every day. His visitors will be limited to family, property caretakers, and friends who are not co-conspirators in the federal indictment. It’s noted that his guests would exclude female visitors, except for family or the mothers of his children.

Diddy also offered weekly drug testing and said he would have no contact with known grand jury witnesses.

A judge is scheduled to rule on the bond appeal later today.

Update #2: (Sep 17, 2024): Seems like Diddy will have to get comfortable with his new environment.

Following back and forth between the defense and prosecutors, the judge has denied Diddy’s bail request. This means he’ll remain in custody and be sent to jail while he awaits his trial.

Diddy has pleaded not guilty to charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution. Legal affairs journalist Meghann Cuniff noted on X that Diddy’s next hope at being released would be a ” bail review hearing before the Article III judge, U.S. District Judge Andrew L. Carter.”

Update #1: (Sep 17, 2024): Diddy is maintaining his innocence.

As his legal team said he would, the 54-year-old has pleaded not guilty to sex trafficking and racketeering charges.

The court hearing is still ongoing at this moment as the defense attempts to get the judge to agree to its $50 million proposed bail package. However, a report from the Associated Press notes that,

“prosecutors called the music mogul ‘dangerous’ and urged that he be jailed without bail, citing guns found at his home and what they said were attempts to intimidate witnesses.”

Original Story: (Sep 17, 2024): Diddy’s attorneys are doing what they can to ensure the record executive doesn’t spend much time behind bars.

Moments ago, legal affairs journalist Meghann Cuniff shared a letter obtained from the defense seeking Diddy’s release. The bail package outlines several things the defense has proposed, including a $50 million bond. Sean “Diddy” Combs’ mother, his sister, the mother of his oldest daughter, and his three adult sons have all agreed to be co-signers, according to the proposal. His sons — Quincy Brown, Justin Combs, and Christian “King” Combs  — being mentioned in the document may be why they were spotted arriving at and leaving the courthouse this morning (Sept. 17).

The bail package says Diddy’s traveling will be limited to Florida and New York “to attend Court, meet with his counsel, and attend medical appointments.” In addition, it notes that Diddy and his children already surrendered their passports to his counsel following the raids at his Miami and Los Angeles properties. Per the document,

“Counsel will provide [Diddy’s] passport to Pretrial Services]”

As reported, Diddy was arrested last night (Sep. 16) in New York and charged with racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution. According to Diddy’s attorneys, he plans to plead not guilty and “will fight this with all of his energy.”
