In a conversation moderated by journalist Erik Davis, Zendaya reflected on her experiences, saying:
“I feel like, often, I am not cut out for that part of it … I don’t necessarily know if I want or can handle all of that… and I don’t know if that’s for me. I do love my job, I’m so grateful… but I am terrified of that part of it, often.”
The actress emphasized her desire to be seen as a “person” first, rather than just a celebrity.

She continued, sharing insights into her background as an introvert:
“I was a shy kid, always have been, and so this part isn’t natural… fashion became important to me because it became like armor.”
