Tina Knowles Opens Up About Being Protective Over Daughters Beyoncé & Solange Amid Times Of Public Scrutiny
Tina Knowles is revealing how she has fiercely safeguarded her daughters, Beyoncé and Solange, throughout their careers in the entertainment industry.
In a recent interview, Tina Knowles reflected on her early days, sharing,
“Very early on I owned a very successful hair salon, and I started doing the girls’ hair to earn my keep so that I could travel with them because I wanted to protect them.”

This commitment to her daughters was especially crucial as Beyoncé began her career at just 14 as part of Destiny’s Child, while Solange transitioned from a teen actress to a music artist.
Recognizing the unique challenges her daughters would face, Tina Knowles stated,
“I saw the need to be there,” emphasizing her dedication to their well-being amid the pressures of fame.”
As they built their careers, Tina recognized the challenges of dealing with negativity on social media. However, she found comfort in her daughters’ encouragement to rise above it. Highlighting their supportive relationship, she said,
“My kids are like, ‘Mom, don’t you answer those crazy people. Just ignore them.'”
But, when it comes to her grandchildren, you won’t get as much grace. Tina shared,
“You mess with my grandchildren, though, I’m coming. Because they’re minors, and they didn’t ask to be in this.”
