Shanquella Robinson’s Family Files Lawsuit Against Travel Companions 2 Years After Her Death In Mexico
Shanquella Robinson‘s family is demanding justice with a new lawsuit against her travel companions, known as the “Cabo Six,” nearly two years after her tragic death in Mexico.
At a press conference on Tuesday (Oct 29), Sallamondra Robinson, Shanquella Robinson’s mother, said,
“We have a hard time grieving … It never goes away … We should have been had justice.”
The suit alleges battery, negligence, conspiracy, and emotional distress while also naming the U.S. State Department and the FBI for negligence and withholding investigation records.
Filed in the Superior Court of Mecklenburg County, the lawsuit claims damages exceeding $25,000 and follows the FBI’s decision not to pursue charges due to a lack of evidence.
If you recall, Shanquella Robinson was found dead in San Jose Del Cabo on October 29, 2022. Her travel companions initially misrepresented her death as alcohol poisoning; however, an autopsy revealed the cause of death to be “severe spinal cord injury and atlas luxation.” The case remains open in Mexico, where authorities are treating it as femicide.
