The death of actress Maggie Smith has caused the coming Sister Act 3 movie to make some unforeseen “shifts,” according to star Whoopi Goldberg.
The 68-year-old spoke about her co-star’s passing and how it impacted the project’s development on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon yesterday (November 6th), stating:
“We’re having to make some readjustments because we just lost Maggie Smith, as you know.”
She added,

Goldberg officially announced that she was producing a third installment of the beloved franchise back in 2020, noting later that she hoped Smith would return to the series to reprise her role as Mother Superior.
Unfortunately, before the movie could finish filming, Smith passed away in September of this year at the age of 89.
