Jaleel White Explains Why Judy Disappeared From ‘Family Matters’: ‘She Wasn’t The Best At Delivering Jokes’
Jaleel White is shedding light on one of TV’s biggest mysteries: what happened to Judy from Family Matters?
During a recent interview on The Breakfast Club, Jaleel was asked about the character Judy Winslow, who famously went upstairs in one episode and never came back down.
He shared,
“They [writers and producers] weren’t giving her storylines. She [actress Jaimee Foxworth] wasn’t the best at delivering jokes. Sometimes they would give her material, and it would just fall flat. If you fall flat in run-throughs, they’re going to rewrite you. You can only mess up so much.”

He added that he blames the whole ordeal on Jaimee Foxworth’s mother, the mother of the actress who played Judy, and explained that the higher-ups “didn’t feel like they needed the character.”
Thoughts on Jaleel’s comments?
