Donald Trump Says It Will Be ‘Very Hard’ To Lower Grocery Prices During His Presidency
Donald Trump is clarifying one of his election promises.
During his campaign, Donald Trump vowed to get grocery prices “way down” and even once said that the promise was a major reason he won the election, per MSNBC.
Now, it looks like he’s walking it back. In an interview with Time Magazine for his Person of the Year title, Donald Trump was asked lot his presidency would be a failure if he was unable to lower the cost of groceries.
He said,
“I don’t think so. Look, they got them up. I’d like to bring them down. It’s hard to bring things down once they’re up. You know, it’s very hard. But I think that they will.”
Shortly after the interview, Donald Trump insisted again that he would bring the price of groceries “way down.”
