Miami Heat Star Terry Rozier Under Federal Investigation For Suspicious Betting Activity During 2023 Charlotte Hornets Game
Federal investigators are looking into unusual betting activity surrounding Miami Heat guard Terry Rozier during his time with the Charlotte Hornets, the Wall Street Journal reported.
The scrutiny centers on a March 23, 2023, game against the New Orleans Pelicans, where Terry Rozier played less than 10 minutes before exiting due to a foot injury. At the time, a notable spike in betting interest on Rozier’s “Unders” raised suspicions, with some bettors claiming “inside info” on his early departure.
Although the NBA conducted an investigation and found no violation of league rules, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of New York has launched its own probe. Terry Rozier , who has not been accused of any wrongdoing, has seen a significant dip in performance since joining the Heat, averaging just 12.1 points per game after a 23.2-point season with the Hornets.
