Ex Adult Film Star Emily Willis Has ‘Irreversible Brain Damage,’ Her Family Reveals In Negligence Lawsuit Against Rehab Center

Emily Willis, whose real name is Litzy Lara Banuelos, has been left with severe and permanent injuries, according to a negligence lawsuit filed by her family against Los Angeles-based rehab center Summit Malibu.

The legal documents obtained by Complex detail Willis’ struggles with a “ketamine addiction,” which led to her admission on January 27, 2024. Upon evaluation, she was described as “extremely medically impaired.” On February 3, 2024, staff urged her to seek urgent care due to severe dehydration, but Emily Willis reportedly refused. Although paramedics were called, she was not transported to a hospital. More than 24 hours later, staff found her unconscious, resulting in “irreversible brain damage.”

The lawsuit reads,

“As a direct and proximate result of Respondents’ neglect, abandonment, recklessness, and negligence in failing to provide care and treatment for [Willis], she suffered irreversible brain damage and permanent physical and mental incapacity, pain, suffering, and emotional distress, among other damages.”

Now unable to speak or move, Emily Willis is being cared for at her home in Utah. Her family hopes this lawsuit will push for reform in how rehab centers handle critical cases.
