Lacy, a talented NFL draft hopeful, transferred to LSU in 2022 after beginning his college career at the University of Louisiana. Known for his size, athleticism, and strong hands, Lacy quickly became a reliable target for the Tigers.
Off the field, Lacy had recently been facing legal troubles. He was scheduled to appear before a grand jury on Monday in connection to a negligent homicide case.
Authorities allege that in December, Lacy was speeding and crossed the center line in a no-passing zone, causing a crash that killed 78-year-old Herman Hall. Police also stated that Lacy initially fled the scene, leading to additional charges of hit-and-run and reckless operation. He was later booked into Lafourche Parish Jail and released on bail after two hours.
While many details surrounding his death remain unknown, the news of Lacy’s passing has sent shockwaves through the LSU community and beyond. Our thoughts are with his family, teammates, and loved ones during this incredibly difficult time.
