Ex Baltimore Cop Sentenced To Life In Prison For S*xually Abu$ing Children At Former Wife’s Daycare
A retired Baltimore police officer was sentenced to life in prison for s*xually ab*sing children at his ex-wife’s daycare, Lil Kidz Kastle.
James Weems, found guilty in November 2024, faced charges including r*pe and s*xual ab*se of a minor. Though he admitted to watching pornography while transporting children, Weems claimed, “I never intentionally showed the children or touched anyone.”
One victim, 10 at the time, told her family, “Mr. James” showed her pornography—discovered after it was found on her tablet.
Weems’ former wife, Shanteari Young, testified against him. Barred from revealing she shot Weems upon learning of the abuse, her lawyer stated, “Ms. Weems did something that she felt was worth it to protect those children.”
A civil suit filed in March alleged negligence and false imprisonment. “It has been devastating—a catastrophic experience,” said attorney Jonathan Schochor. He added, “Whether she can emotionally confront what happened in her life remains to be seen.”
