Snoop Dogg Seeks To Dismiss $100 Million Lawsuit From Woman Who Says She Funded Death Row & Was Never Paid
Snoop Dogg is asking a Texas court to throw out a $100 million lawsuit tied to the origins of Death Row Records.
Lydia Harris, the ex-wife of label cofounder Michael “Harry O” Harris, is suing Snoop, Suge Knight, and companies like Interscope Records, Universal Music Group, and Time Warner, claiming she was never paid a $107 million default judgment from a 2005 court order. She says she invested $1.5 million into the label’s launch in 1989, but was cut out of profits as the brand grew.

In response, Snoop’s legal team filed to dismiss the suit, arguing her claims are time-barred by the statute of limitations. They also describe Harris as a “bad faith litigant” who,
“Continued a pattern of harassment in California for years and has now shifted her harassment to a new forum in Texas.”
Harris is demanding punitive damages, recovery of allegedly owed assets, and a full financial accounting of the label, which is now owned by Snoop. The court has not yet ruled on his motion, and the other named parties have not commented.
