While speaking with co-host Andrew Schulz on an episode of their Brilliant Idiots podcast, the two dissected the Trump administration’s renewed push for mass deportations—efforts they claim will ultimately help revive U.S. manufacturing by reducing dependence on foreign labor.
As they discussed the economic ripple effects of bringing manufacturing back to the U.S., a crew member of the show remarked that domestic production would lead to higher costs due to increased wages, unlike outsourcing, which relies on cheaper labor overseas.
Charlamagne then gave an unexpected perspective, stating that rather than deporting undocumented immigrants, the U.S. should put them to work for the low wages native born Americans don’t want to accept. He stated:
“You take the people that you deporting and put ’em in those factories and pay ’em those low wages,”
