#TJBDebates: Does Anthony Edwards Need A Wife To Be The Face Of The NBA?
Now this is an interesting take!
Kendrick Perkins doesn’t believe Anthony Edwards is ready to be the face of the NBA—and it has nothing to do with his game.
During a recent “First Take” appearance, Kendrick Perkins seemingly referenced Anthony Edwards’ off-court drama, particularly his legal battles with Ayesha Howard, the mother of his daughter.
“You gotta check the boxes when you’re the face of the league,” Kendrick Perkins said. “Yes, we know you gotta have a signature shoe, you’re going to be in commercials, you’re going to have the highlights… but you know what else you gotta have? You gotta be a role model, and things outside the lines matter.”
He went on to argue that the league’s biggest icons all had “family men” public personas.
“While they was playing in the league, they all were family men. They all were married with kids. And if you don’t think that play a role…this is facts.”
