Actor Columbus Short & Wife Granted Restraining Orders After Accusing Each Other Of Abuse

Trouble between actor Columbus Short and his wife, Aida Abramyan Short, has escalated, with both parties now under temporary restraining orders.

According to legal documents, Aida claims that on July 7, while doing laundry, a heavily intoxicated Columbus confronted her, shouting, “Don’t slam the f*cking door b*tch. Your mouth is gonna get you in trouble! Shut the f*ck up,” before allegedly choking her. A neighbor reportedly called police after hearing her screams.

Aida included photos showing a black eye and bruises she says are from previous violent incidents. She also accuses Columbus of drinking excessively, becoming aggressive while intoxicated, and once driving under the influence with their kids in the car. She asked the court to keep him at least 100 yards away from her and their two sons, but the judge denied her request for sole custody.

Columbus filed his own restraining order, claiming Aida became violent with him and their puppy. He says she kicked and threw the dog, then hit him multiple times in the face, leaving a gash above his eye. He accuses her of verbal abuse in front of the kids, threatening him with a knife, and hitting him with a glass trophy. He is asking the court to order her to stay away from him, their children, and pets, and to move out while continuing to pay the rent.

The couple, married in 2016, has had prior issues. Columbus was arrested in 2022 for an alleged domestic dispute and had a misdemeanor domestic violence conviction before that.

Both restraining orders are temporary, as the court prepares for a hearing to determine a long-term solution.
