Ja Rule Says He Tried To Mediate Between Ashanti & Irv Gotti After Affair Claims & Public Fallout

Ja Rule says he tried to keep the peace between Ashanti and the late Irv Gotti amid years of tension.

On a recent episode of the BagFuel podcast, the rapper opened up about his role as a mediator between the R&B singer and the Murder Inc. Records co-founder.

Calling Ashanti his “sister” and Gotti his “brother,” Ja said,

“It’s really like a family thing. I’m y’all brother, how much do y’all want me to get involved?”

He admitted the situation was “sometimes” uncomfortable but added,

“It’s just sad that my brother and my sister were arguing and going through it like that. I tried to play the peacemaker. I tried plenty of times to mediate the sh*t, but it came to a point where I was like, ‘You know what? I’m out of it. Y’all deal with it.’”

Ja went on,

“I’m not doing none of that sh*t. I’m out. Just leave me the f*ck out of it. Y’all deal with it. Y’all grown.’ And everybody was cool with my stance and that’s fine. So, I wish it could have been different.”

If you recall, Irv claimed he and Ashanti had an affair during her time on his record label, and he detailed the alleged relationship just months after she reconciled with her now-husband, Nelly. Ashanti later accused him of lying. However, following his death, she expressed that she wished things had ended differently between them.
