Food Network Star Anne Burrell Died By Suicide From Acute Intoxication, Medical Examiner Confirms
Anne Burrell’s cause of death has been confirmed.
According to the New York City medical examiner’s office, the beloved Food Network star died by suicide due to “acute intoxication” from a combination of diphenhydramine, ethanol, cetirizine, and amphetamine.
As previously reported, Anne was found “unconscious and unresponsive” in the shower, surrounded by “approximately 100 assorted pills.” EMS pronounced her dead at the scene.

Her family previously said in a statement:
“Anne was a beloved wife, sister, daughter, stepmother, and friend. Her smile lit up every room she entered. Though she is no longer with us, her warmth, spirit, and boundless love remain eternal.”
Anne is survived by her husband Stuart Claxton, stepson Javier, her mother Marlene, sister Jane, brother Ben, and her children Isabella, Amelia, and Nicolas.
