Eddie Murphy Recalls How His ‘Clairvoyant’ Childhood Girlfriend Predicted He’d Be Famous
Looks like it was always in the stars that Eddie Murphy would become a household name.
During a recent interview with Complex’s Speedy Morman, Eddie shared that someone he once dated as a child told him he’d be famous in the future. He said:
“I had a girlfriend named Sherry who was a clairvoyant, and she could really like, read stuff. She could like put her hands on stuff and see stuff with her hands.”
Eddie continued:
“She could put her hand in the newspaper and tell you the stuff in the paper. And you could put money in her hands, she could tell you what the bill was. She could put her hand in the photo album and tell you who was on the picture.”
The multi-talented celeb shared that when he was around 13, Sherry used her special abilities on him and told him he was going to be famous. However, the news was no shock to a young Eddie, who said he responded: “I knew it!”
Eddie also revealed that he took care of Sherry in her 20s because she was “bedridden” due to a “neurological problem.” Sadly, she passed in the late ’90s, while Eddie was filming The Nutty Professor.
