Boxer Terence Crawford Stripped Of Super Middleweight Title Over Unpaid Sanctioning Fees
#TerenceCrawford has been stripped of his World Boxing Council (WBC) super-middleweight title after the organization determined he failed to pay the mandatory sanctioning fees tied to his recent bouts, including his high-profile victory over Canelo Álvarez. The WBC confirmed that despite attempts to resolve the matter, the fees were never paid, forcing the sanctioning body to vacate Crawford’s championship status.
With the title now open, the WBC moved quickly to set up a new matchup for the belt. Rising British contender Hamzah Sheeraz has officially been ordered to fight Christian Mbilli, who enters the opportunity with an impressive 29-0-1 record and 24 knockouts. Their showdown will determine who becomes the next #WBC super-middleweight champion.
