Boxer Terence Crawford Hit w/ $1.5 Million Lawsuit + Jeweler Claims He Ghosted Promo Deal After Taking $139K Watch
Terence Crawford may be done in the ring, but he’s now facing a legal battle outside of it.
The retired boxing star has been sued by luxury jeweler Mazza New York, which claims Crawford backed out of a deal to promote the shop in exchange for a discounted watch. In a lawsuit filed December 18 and obtained by TMZ, the jeweler alleges Terence Crawford approached the store in February 2024 for custom pendants and later expressed interest in a $139,000 Patek Philippe Aquanaut.
According to Mazza, Crawford proposed paying $35,000 upfront and covering the balance by promoting the shop’s logo on his fight trunks. The jeweler claims the logo “had completely fallen off” by the fourth round of Crawford’s August 2024 fight against Israil Madrimov.
Mazza alleges Crawford’s team admitted the agreement wasn’t fulfilled and promised to fix it during the bout with Canelo Alvarez, only for the logo to be pulled with “no reason or explanation.”
The jeweler claims the missed exposure cost his business roughly $1.5 million and is seeking at least that amount in damages.
Yikes. Should Terence be responsible for this balance?
