Ray J Charged With Six Misdemeanors After Thanksgiving Arrest, Princess Love: “I Hope He Gets Help”

Ray J is facing multiple misdemeanor charges after a Thanksgiving Day arrest at his Los Angeles home, with his arraignment scheduled for Friday, authorities confirmed.

Police were called to singer Ray J — legally William Raymond Norwood Jr. — just before 4 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 27 at his Porter Ranch residence after a report of a domestic violence incident involving an assault with a deadly weapon, FOX 11 reported. Officers detained him at the scene and recovered several firearms from the home. His bail was set at $50,000, and he was released on bond later that morning.

Although the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office did not file charges, the Los Angeles City Attorney has now charged Ray J with six misdemeanor counts, according to FOX 11. The charges include brandishing a firearm, assault with force likely to produce great bodily injury, and child endangerment, among others.

The arrest comes after a tumultuous period in his personal life. Ray J’s estranged wife, Princess Love, recently filed for divorce from the performer for the fourth time.

Following the incident, Princess Love publicly commented on the situation. She said she hopes Ray J “gets help,” adding: “I’ve been doing a really great job of protecting my peace and staying off of social media and just going to work and taking care of my kids.”

She further stated, “I would never do anything to put them in danger, including leaving them with a man who’s waving a gun around.”
