Remy Ma Hit w/ Cease-&-Desist From Rick Ross Over Her Film “The Biggest Boss,” Which Centers Around A Cop-Turned-Rapper

#RickRoss is taking legal action against Remy Ma over her upcoming film, claiming she crossed the line by using elements tied to his likeness and brand.

According to a cease-and-desist letter obtained by TMZ, Ross alleges that Remy’s project, originally titled The Biggest Boss, uses his well-known nickname and music without authorization, and he’s demanding the film be halted. Ross also argues the project could mislead fans into thinking he’s involved. The film, which is set to be released via streaming on Remy’s platform, The Remy Network, reportedly follows a storyline about a police officer who turns a drug dealer’s life story into a rap career. The plot mirrors similar allegations Ross has faced, as he previously worked as a correctional officer before becoming a rapper.

It’s alleged that #RemyMa’s film is her way of getting back at the Here I Am rapper for buddying up with her estranged husband #Papoose’s girlfriend, #ClaressaShields. However, her rep told TMZ, “Remy was personally unaware of the concerns raised regarding ‘The Biggest Boss’ and takes the matter seriously.” The statement continued, “She has maintained a personal and professional relationship with Rick Ross for more than 20 years and would never intentionally engage in any action that could harm his brand or cause offense.” The rep added that Remy “has also reached out to [Ross] directly,” and confirmed that the title has since been removed while her team works to ensure “situations like this do not occur moving forward.”
