The famed singer has faced criticism over the alleged way he’s treated his adult children. One point of controversy arose when Brian reportedly called the children he welcomed before marrying his current wife, Leilani — Brian Jr., Niko, Briana, and Clyde — a “product of sin.” Fans also criticized him when he welcomed a son with Leilani and named the child Brian McKnight Jr.

The public backlash intensified after Brian was accused of refusing to grant his son Niko his dying wish of hearing “I love you” before he passed from cancer last year.
