Andy Cohen Speaks On NeNe Leakes Return After Legal Drama: “It Was Very Positive”
Andy Cohen is opening up about NeNe Leakes re-entering the Bravo universe.
In a recent interview with Vulture, Cohen addressed Leakes’ upcoming appearance on Ultimate Girls Trip — despite her past lawsuit against the network.
“Nene is making an appearance on Ultimate Girls Trip. I was pretty surprised by that. She sued you guys. Why are you bringing her back?” the interviewer asked.
Cohen responded by emphasizing the bigger picture.
“We are celebrating 20 years of the Housewives. I can’t speak to that lawsuit, but it’s in the past. She was integral to the show and its success. As we looked back on 20 years, it felt like doing something with her would be really nice for the fans, and she really wanted to do it. It was very positive.”
The conversation then shifted to whether the appearance could lead to something more.
“Is it a foot in the door so that she could return?” the interviewer asked.
Cohen made it clear his current focus is elsewhere.
“You know what? We’ve worked so hard to get a cast on Atlanta that is cohesive and makes sense and that we love and the fans love. We want to be at the level that Atlanta used to be, and we are finally there. That’s what I’m focusing on right now.”
