[WATCH] ‘It’s Not Safe For You In this Zoo’: Kanye West Appears On ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’

Jimmy Kimmel called. And Kanye Omari West answered. Less than two weeks ago, both Kimmel and Yeezy entertained us by having a public spat that transformed onto TV and twitter. Long story short, both men aired out their public differences, after Kimmel did a spoof on one of Ye’s most recent interviews.

Thursday night, like most of you, we tuned in to see just exactly how this conversation would play out. Of course, in true TJB fashion, we’ve pulled some of our favorite quotes, one-lines and points that made us both chuckle and nod our head in agreement.

In addition to explaining what upset Kanye so much about Kimmel’s spoof, he also lightly touched up on how infuriated he is that his girlfriend (Kim Kardashian) hadn’t received a star on the ‘Walk of Fame’; why he compares himself to the likes of Steve Jobs and Michael Jackson; how he absolutely considers himself a genius (unapologetically); all while reiterating that folk need to not forget that he’s from Chi-Town (when it comes to protecting his family).

1. Kanye West does not do publicity stunts. 

Everyone out there in TV world…real world, whatever world you stay in…needs to know that I’ve never done a publicity stunt in my life…it was always what I thought was the truth…I don’t follow rules of like normal celebrity…I don’t do publicity stunts period. So don’t ever thing that….

2. Jimmy Kimmel’s spoof made Kanye question whether he (Kimmel) was genuine. 

I knew you before and I remember you telling me ‘Hey, I want people to know this side of you.’ A combination of me knowing you and me not knowing the person that put a bad headline…I was like ‘This is the one person I know…’ Everything that people feel is okay to treat celebrities like zoo animals or act like what they say is not serious….It kinda just went and just elevated as a call that we just had as men…At certain point these egos can flair up…We kinda just took it back to high school for a little bit…

3. Kanye believes he’s a genius.

I’m not running for office, I’m just here to make good music…For me, I’m a creative genius and there’s no other way to say it….I know you’re not supposed to say that about yourself….I spent two of my checks on telemarketing on my first pair of Gucci sneakers…For me, I care about cool stuff…That’s what I was talking about on the interview…I say that I’m more of  messenger than a rapper…I could care less about any of these cameras…All I care about is my family…I care about protecting my girl, protecting my family and protecting my dreams…

4. Kanye is unapologetic. 

I’m totally weird. And I’m totally honest. I’m totally inappropriate sometimes. For me to say I’m not a genius, I’d just be lying to you and myself…

5. Kanye is baffled at how Kim Kardashian being a reality TV star, doesn’t qualify her to receive a star on the ‘Walk of Fame’. 

They said there not going to put my girl on the Walk of Fame because they said she’s a reality star. It’s like people are so, so dated and not modern. There’s no way a Kim Kardashian shouldn’t have a star on the Walk of Fame..It’s ridiculous old concepts..

6. Kanye tweeted in the comfort of his home and had some ‘funnier’ ones (which were probably more digs) aimed at Kimmel. 

I was just at my place here. My old home here in LA. As we were writing it, there were really funny to me…I just thought it was so amazing that I was saying this in real time, in real life.

7. Kanye is the ultimate protector when it comes to his family. Paparazzi, be clear. 

It’s not safe for you in this zoo. Never think for one second I’m not from Chicago and think you can walk up and disrespect me and my family…Well, people say, ‘You signed up to be a celebrity…I understand you gotta get your money…But let’s have respect for each other….You do help me paparazzi, you show people how fresh my outfit is…that helps me influence people.
