Pebbles Slaps Viacom With $40 Million Dollar Lawsuit Over TLC Movie
It’s no secret. Music veteran Perri ‘Pebbles’ Reid was not pleased with how she was portrayed in the VH1 movie, “CrazySexyCool: The TLC Story.” According to Page Six, Pebbles, the former manager of TLC, is suing Viacom for a whopping $40 million.
The 49-year-old claims in federal court that the movie portrays her
as a conniving and dishonest business woman who hoodwinked three innocent girls and exploited their talent for her own personal gain.
In the suit, filed on Friday, she adds that Viacom
ignored fundamental canons of journalistic and literary conduct by publishing false and defamatory accusations with actual malice.
Pebbles claims that many accusations made in the film about her were completely false. In fact, she says that she never controlled TLC’s lawyers or accountants, never withheld contract terms from TLC and always paid the group what they were owed.
A spokesperson for Viacom said,
