Lil Kim, Da Brat, Missy Elliott Perform ‘Ladies Night’ On Soul Train Awards [VIDEO]
Last night, some of hip-hop’s most notable female emcees took to the Soul Train Awards stage. After a 17 years, Lil’ Kim, Missy Elliott and Da Brat performed their classic hit, Ladies Night. The set was kicked off with Eric Benet and transitioned to the trio performing their version. Left Eye, who passed in 2002, was incorporated with visuals of a previous performance. Angie Martinez, who was in the initial song, was absent.
After their performance, Missy told the crowd:
I wanna say y’all give it up for Brat, Kim, Total is up here, MC Lyte in here, Rage is up here…Yo-Yo is up here and it’s been 16 years since we performed this record. Thank y’all, thank y’all cool in the gang for giving us great records. Rest in Peace Left-Eye.
