(EXCLUSIVE) Baseball Legend Frank Thomas Battles Reebok Over Sneaker Line
theJasmineBRAND.com exclusively reports, baseball legend Frank Thomas’ legal battle with a well-known sneaker line is heating up. The 46-year-old Baseball Hall of Famer has been accused of refusing to hand over confidential financial documents in his legal battle with Reebok over the alleged unauthorized sale of sneakers with his “Big Hurt” trademark.
Earlier this year, MLB legend Frank Thomas sued Reebok, claiming they were infringing on his “Big Hurt” trademark. He explained he had a deal with Reebok from 1995-98 to use the trademark to sell sneakers.
However, he reportedly says the company re-released the iconic sneaker in 2013 without his permission and he filed suit for damages, an injunction against the shoe co. and any profits they made off the re-release
Reebok fired back at Thomas, claiming neither their ad campaign or the show make any mention of Frank Thomas.
Further, the shoe giant claimed that Thomas unnecessary delayed enforcing his rights and didn’t notify them when he first became aware of the shoe being re-released. Reebok says they did NOT engage in unlawful behavior by releasing the campaign and the new sneaker.
