5 Facts Shaun King, The Man Many Are Painting as a Rachel Dolezal 2.0 [UPDATED]
Not another one!
After Rachel Dolezal was outed for being a white woman posing as a black woman her soul brother (in a sense) has just been outed, Shaun King. King’s story like Dolezal is similar as he too cares deeply about the Black Lives Matter movement and was a victim of a hate crime but with new evidence surrounding his race, we don’t know what to believe anymore.
Blogger Nicki Pate has spent years trying to uncover his backstory and yesterday through the conservative website Breibart, she published some of her findings. Despite the substantial evidence against King, the father of 3, or 4, or 9 (we’re not sure how many kids he has these days) is sticking by his story of being biracial. And quite frankly, we’re a tad bit confused. But as the saying goes, there are three sides to every story, King’s side, Pate’s side, and the truth. Here’s five truths we do know about Shaun King, the alleged Rachel Dolezal 2.0.
Hate Crime
He garnered national attention when he was a teen for being a victim of a hate crime that is tagged as “Kentucky’s first hate crime.”

That’s what black people get for claiming everybody. Biracial isn’t black.
I could careless of his race. We need to realize that there are more important issues. We need to pick our battles better. Racist are at the sidelines eating their popcorn as we fight one another. And when I say “we” I mean we people who support justice for blacks, an end to institutional racism, and every other black cause.
Did you all read all of his tweets and stories/pictures posted by friends? From one of his friends: “We grew up in a town where white mothers were constantly dis-owned by their families for having relationships and making children with black fathers.” That would explain why both parents are listed as white.
Furthermore, why are you so quick to label him Racial Dolezal 2.0? She was a white woman pretending to be black. Shaun King is biracial and just because he isn’t “100% black” doesn’t mean he can’t be a voice for the well-being of black people or be an advocate for justice. That site that wrote the article about him is one that continuously attacks black people and the work that they do (i.e Shirley Sherrod). Instead of being so quick to tear someone down, we need to focus on the real issues which Shaun King has done a great job bringing to the forefront.
