Post Malone Apologizes For Saying It’s A Struggle To Be A White Rapper
Post Malone Sorry For Saying It’s A Struggle To Be A White Rapper
In a new interview, 22-year-old rapper Post Malone (real name Austin Richard Post) admits that being white in the rap game isn’t easy. The ‘Congratulations’ hit maker says,
I definitely feel like there’s a struggle being a white rapper. But I don’t want to be a rapper. I just want to be a person that makes music. I make music that I like and I think that kicks ass, that I think the people who fuck with me as a person and as an artist will like.
When asked if he recognizes that there are separate struggles that go along with race, he admits,
Yeah of course.
Malone has received backlash for his comments and is now apologizing. He says,
maybe “struggle” isn’t the right word, but it is different, and i knew this coming into it. especially at the beginning it was tough to get taken seriously is what i was trying to say. i just want the music to speak for itself.
