Kendrick Lamar, Tiffany Haddish, Amandla Stenberg, Larenz Tate, Hannibal Buress Invited To Join Movie Academy
The Movie Academy is trying their best to shake the #OscarsSoWhite label and focus more on diversity. In doing so, they’ve extended membership invites to 928 people, many of which are men and women of color.
The invites were extended to actors, writers, and directors, 49% of the new members being women and 38% being people of color. The new members include Quvenzhané Wallis, Kendrick Lamar, Lorenz Tate, J.K. Rowling, Tiffany Haddish, Rashida Jones, Hannibal Buress, Ester Dean, Michael K. Williams and more.
